As hard as it is to believe, the 16th Annual Second Life Christmas Expo and Winter Fair opens in just 30 days! Behind the scenes, Santa’s busy little Elf Helpers are hard at work building, designing, scripting, decorating, and generally exercising all manner of creative magic to bring this year’s Expo to life. There are countless moving parts involved in producing an American Cancer Society Mega Event of this magnitude, and one of the most important ingredients for success is something that no amount of Christmas magic can replace: good promotion!
In anticipation of what promises to be a spectacular Christmas Expo, we’re looking for enthusiastic bloggers to help spread the word about everything this year’s event has to offer. From fabulous entertainment and festive activities to the STORES, talented merchants, and unique creations available exclusively at the Expo, there will be plenty to see, experience, and, of course, write about!
But beyond all the shopping, entertainment, and holiday festivities lies the real reason we come together each year: the opportunity to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by cancer. It’s a cause that brings out the very best in our Second Life community, and we’d love for you to help us tell that story.
Official Blogger Applications Are Now Open!
If you’re interested in joining us as one of our Official SL Christmas Expo Bloggers, the application process is officially underway! We’re accepting applications now through November 13th, and applying couldn’t be easier.
Simply visit the official SL Christmas Expo website using the link below, look for “Blogging the Expo” in the main menu, and complete the application form. Be sure to fill it out in its entirety before submitting!
Our Blogger Committee will review the applications, and those selected will be notified by November 15th. And if you’re not selected as an official blogger this time around, don’t be discouraged! There will still be plenty of opportunities to blog about the Expo, share your experiences, showcase your favorite discoveries, and help us spread the word. After all, when it comes to supporting such a wonderful cause, everyone has something valuable to contribute.
This year’s Expo promises to be especially magical as we celebrate “A Nutcracker Christmas,” November 27th through December 6th! We hope you’ll join us for ten wonderful days of holiday cheer, extraordinary creativity, community spirit, and the shared joy of making a difference.
And be sure to stay tuned! We’ll have a more in-depth article about this year’s Christmas Expo coming soon, with plenty of exciting details about what you can expect when the doors finally open.
